    The river pool was emptied from 15 April 2026 and the barrage was fully drained on 17 April; the department's mechanical division replaced 19 of the 30 gates and repaired 10 using about 460 tonnes of steel. DD News reported on 24 June 2026 that the work was finished within 35 days; the exact completion date is not given. The pre-work estimate was Rs 9 crore for 18 gates; the final figure reported was Rs 10.15 crore. Fabrication contractor not named.
