An old rail overbridge near Ahmedabad (Kalupur) station being demolished and rebuilt as part of the station redevelopment. Knocksense reports a total cost of Rs 226.48 crore shared equally by Railways and the AMC, with the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) overseeing construction; a December 2025 Gujarat Samachar table lists the overbridge at Rs 113.25 crore. Ahmedabad Mirror (October 2025) says RLDA took up the project in November 2024, while an RLDA officer's LinkedIn post says the work was entrusted to RLDA in January 2025 and that dismantling of the old bridge was completed on 22 December. Sources disagree on the old bridge's age: Ahmedabad Mirror and the LinkedIn post say it was built in 1922, Knocksense calls it 83 years old, and the AMC's July 2025 age list gives 1940. Knocksense describes the replacement as four-lane; Ahmedabad Mirror says the railway portion will go from four to six lanes. The new bridge is about 497 m long with a single 107 m bowstring-girder span; by October 2025 all 132 piles and about 80% of the substructure were reported complete. RLDA's station-redevelopment EPC contract went to a DRA Infracon–DMRC joint venture in November 2023, but no source opened states that the bridge is being built under that contract, so the contractor is left blank.
