Inaugurated on 4 March 2024; Gujarat Samachar reports it was closed within hours because two mobile towers on the route had not been removed. The 452 m underpass was planned by the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) in 2016 and jointly funded: GMRC about Rs 47 crore, the AMC Rs 33 crore and the Railways Rs 3 crore. A GMRC official attributed the cost to a 50 m extension, utility shifting and micro-tunnelling among other factors; the opposition says the estimate rose from Rs 45 crore to Rs 83 crore (one report says about Rs 85 crore), and The Times of India described it as about four years late. Gujarat Samachar reported exposed reinforcement 172 days after opening and, citing unnamed official sources, said the construction was carried out by Ahmedabad-based Ravi Builders; this is a single report and is not confirmed elsewhere in the sources read.
