   The Times of India reported in April 2023 that Ashish Bridge Con was awarded the contract in September 2022 for about Rs 80 crore. In the same report an AMC deputy city engineer is quoted as saying the firm was earlier Ashish Construction Co, which built an R&B bridge over the Kaveri in Navsari district that subsided in July 2022 and was then under inquiry, and that it changed its name in 2018; the report adds that an SVNIT inquiry report described the settlement as an 'act of God' while an unnamed R&B official suspected the piles were not cast properly. Cost figures vary: an approved estimate of Rs 87.25 crore against a Rs 70.7 crore tender (TOI, May 2026), about Rs 80 crore in the 2023 report, Rs 80.63 crore in November 2025 and Rs 98.60 crore at opening. TOI and DeshGujarat say work began on 30 September 2022 with a deadline of 30 November 2024 (26 months); Gujarat Samachar's opening report gives 30 September 2023 and March 2025. Inaugurated by the Chief Minister on 23 September 2026. Delays were attributed by officials to a drainage line rupture, uncharted utilities and railway approvals.
