The six-lane Sabarmati crossing on the airport road between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, described by Sandesh as about 43 years old. It was widened from four to six lanes in 2012-14 and is now planned to become a 12-lane crossing.

    Sandesh and DeshGujarat (15 July 2026) both report an R&B tender of Rs 96.23 crore (overall estimate about Rs 109 crore) for two new three-lane cable-stayed bridges, one on each side, with 2.5 m footpaths and viewing galleries, targeted for completion within a year. Award and contractor not found.

    After media reports of cracks, engineers of Capital Project Division-3 inspected the bridge and the government said an audit by Infinite Consultant (a consultant, not a works contractor) found the structure sound.
