Approved by the AMC road and building committee on 6 September 2022 as a three-lane bridge with the cost split equally between the railways and the state government. In October 2023 DeshGujarat reported the project as Rs 66.76 crore with a 26-month period started in September 2022, and that Vejalpur MLA Amit Thaker had complained to the municipal commissioner that pier foundation work had not begun after a year. A December 2025 Gujarat Samachar table lists the cost as Rs 78.54 crore and the deadline as 30 June 2026. Contractor not named.
